Facilities Management

Entry: /facilities. Facilities owns Sites, Equipment Rooms, Racks, Room Objects, layout geometry and physical placement. You need Group access and separate layout-management permission to edit a Room. Linking real equipment also needs the relevant peer Module and permission.

Establish a Site and Equipment Room

1. Open Sites & rooms → Sites and create the Site with its required identity information.
2. Open Equipment rooms and create a Room under that Site. Enter its measured dimensions and required details. The normal visible hierarchy is Site → Equipment Room.
3. Open the Room to review its saved Overview, Layout and other related views. A newly created room is not evidence that equipment has been installed.

Edit and save a Room Layout

1. Return to the Equipment Rooms table and choose Edit Layout for the exact Room. Studio opens in a separate tab; dashboard and ordinary Layout links are viewing entries.
2. In Studio, enter the available Edit Layout mode and obtain the edit lease before changing the drawing.
3. Use the model library to place appropriate Racks or Room Objects. Select an object and review its dimensions and position in Properties. Use Undo/Redo for draft corrections.
4. Choose Save Layout, then return to the Room and verify the saved arrangement. Keep another editor's active lease and the current saved version in mind if saving is blocked.

Reuse a Rack and inspect capacity

1. In editable Studio, expand Retired Rack to find eligible unplaced active Rack inventory. This category name does not mean the Rack's lifecycle is retired.
2. Select an eligible Rack, place it at a free supported position and save. Reuse preserves its identity; Copy/Paste creates a different, empty Rack.
3. Review the Room's equipment and Rack information, then return to the Site overview for Rack Unit utilization, recorded power and reporting coverage.

Expected result and boundaries: layout changes describe Facilities geometry. Proposals are not installations or capacity reservations; saving geometry does not create Network configuration or Cabling connections. Adding or copying Racks and Room Objects can create inventory before the layout is saved, and removing a drawing symbol preserves inventory. Inspect unplaced inventory after abandoning a draft. The same-Room reuse workflow does not certify moving a populated Rack between Rooms. Recorded Rack power is not a live Room meter or energy consumption. Missing measurements remain Not reported, and missing WebGL or a save conflict must be resolved without assuming the draft was stored.
